§ 55. Sir N. Grattan-Doyleasked the Postmaster-General the rates of remuneration of sub-postmasters for the 612 various classes of Post Office work which they are required to undertake; whether he has received any representations to the effect that such rates are too low having regard to the class and volume of work; and, if so, what reply has been made to such representations?
§ Major TryonSub-postmasters are remunerated on the basis of a somewhat elaborate scale of unit valuations for the various types of work, which formed the subject of an agreement with the National Federation of Sub-postmasters in November, 1935. This recent agreement was intended to remain in force for some time. No representations have been received from the Federation with regard to the agreement except on minor points. I will send the hon. Member a copy of the unit scale.
