HC Deb 12 April 1937 vol 322 c610
47. Mr. Mathers

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will cause the rule allowing 20 or more similar circulars produced by mechanical process to be posted at one time bearing ½d. stamps to be amended, so that in the case of type written circulars the original as well as carbon copies will be covered by the arrangement?

The Postmaster-General (Major Tryon)

Under the statutory regulations the original copies are inadmissible. I will examine the hon. Member's suggestion and communicate with him.

Mr. Mathers

Does the right hon. Gentleman realise that this particular rule involves a very great deal of work to many voluntary workers working for small organisations, and will he keep that fact in mind when he is examining the question?

Mr. Thurtle

Is the Postmaster-General aware that this matter is arousing passionate interest in Scotland?
