§ 27. Mr. R. Gibsonasked the Minister of Labour whether his attention has been directed to the recent increases in the cost of foodstuffs and other necessaries, and the relation of such increases to the standard of living of unemployed persons; and whether he has any statement to make thereon?
§ Mr. E. BrownI do not consider that any circumstances have arisen which would justify the action necessary for increasing the rates of unemployment benefit and the basic rates of unemployment assistance.
