HC Deb 06 April 1937 vol 322 c34
68. Mr. T. Williams

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has any information to give the House as to the position of affairs in Palestine?

69. Mr. Mander

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what is the present position in Palestine with regard to outbreaks of violence and the measures taken to prevent them?

Commander Southby

I am glad to be able to state that there has been a decrease in crime and the feeling of insecurity appears to have grown less acute in the last ten days. As a precaution against a recrudescence of acts of violence special measures are being taken by the Palestine Government in which the military forces will give further assistance to the civil authorities in various directions.
