HC Deb 06 April 1937 vol 322 cc5-6
6. Mr. Lunn

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he has any statement to make as to the relations between this country and the Irish Free State; whether any decisions have been reached on outstanding questions; and whether it is proposed to make arrangements for further meetings with the President of the Executive Council?

The Under-Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs (Marquess of Harting-ton)

There is nothing that I can add at present to recent answers given by my right hon. Friend regarding relations between the Irish Free State and this country.

Mr. Lunn

Will the Noble Lord represent to his right hon. Friend the necessity for some action being taken to settle the differences between this country and the Irish Free State?

Mr. Logan

Has the Noble Lord's attention been drawn to a conversation between the German Minister and an Irish Free State representative, and is it not advisable to end the position between us and the Irish Free State?

Lieut.-Colonel Acland-Troyte

Will they take steps to pay their debt to us?
