Morrison)The total value of the orders placed by the Defence Departments since the beginning of the financial year up to 30th September last is approximately £83,000,000, but a considerable proportion of this total will not fall due for payment in the current financial year. It is not possible without undue labour to give the detailed particulars as to the allocation of contracts asked for. But the total value of orders placed by the Defence Departments in the current financial year up to 30th September, in areas suffering from severe and prolonged unemployment, including the Special Areas, is approximately £19,000,000.
