HC Deb 30 November 1936 vol 318 cc840-1
55. Mr. DAY

asked the Attorney-General whether he will give particulars of any proceedings that have been instituted under the County Courts (Amendment) Act, 1934, against any persons or debt collectors who have written letters purporting to have the appearance of being issued by the county courts?

Commander SOUTHBY (Lord of the Treasury)

I have been asked to reply. As far as my hon. and learned Friend is aware, proceedings have been taken in one case under Section 31 of the County Courts (Amendment) Act, 1934. The defendant pleaded guilty and was fined £10 and ordered to pay two guineas costs.
