HC Deb 18 November 1936 vol 317 c1792
66. Mr. DOBBIE

asked the Attorney-General whether any further progress has been made on the question of appointing official shorthand writers in the High Court of Justice, or whether the legal authorities have abandoned this project; and, if so, upon what grounds?

The SOLICITOR-GENERAL (Sir Terence O'Connor)

The committee, which my Noble Friend the Lord Chancellor set up under the chairmanship of Mr. Justice Atkinson to consider the position of official shorthand writers in the Supreme Court, has now presented its report, which is at the moment under consideration.
