HC Deb 18 November 1936 vol 317 c1768
11. Captain PETER MACDONALD

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether any decision has yet been reached with regard to the desirability of the Admiralty taking complete control of the Fleet Air Arm; and, if not, whether any satisfactory definition has yet been reached so far as the responsibilities of the Navy with regard to its own methods of air defence and attack are concerned?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Sir Samuel Hoare)

The answer is in the negative.

Captain MACDONALD

In view of the necessity of settling this question one way or the other, will my right hon. Friend consider setting up a committee?

Sir S. HOARE

It is not my business to set up a committee.
