HC Deb 18 November 1936 vol 317 c1774
24. Mr. STOREY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air the value of the orders placed by his Department in the county borough of Sunderland during the past 12 months; and what proportion of such orders was due to the preference given to the special areas?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for AIR (Sir Philip Sassoon)

I regret that it is not practicable to give details of contracts placed in particular areas without undue expenditure of time and labour.

Mr. THORNE

Is it not the fact that the Treasury have to make grants from time to time to the firms doing the work, and that they have all the information in the Treasury Office?
