HC Deb 16 November 1936 vol 317 c1317
23. Mr. DREWE

asked the Postmaster-General whether he has considered resolutions sent from Devon and Cornwall asking that the West of England broadcast programmes should be separated from those in Wales; and what action he is prepared to take in the matter?

The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Major Tryon)

I am informed that the British Broadcasting Corporation is keenly alive to the needs of listeners in Devon and Cornwall, and that plans are in preparation which, it is hoped, will overcome the difficult technical obstacles in the way of constituting Wales and the West Country as separate broadcasting regions.
