HC Deb 12 November 1936 vol 317 c1029
50. Mr. SUTCLIFFE

asked the Home Secretary whether he can make any statement with regard to the position of the Home Office in respect of card-room dust, as a result of the recent deputation representing the card-room workers' amalgamation?

Sir J. SIMON

Yes, Sir. I have decided to set up a committee to explore the question whether a workable scheme can be devised for providing some compensation for card-room and certain other workers disabled by respiratory illness as indicated in the report of the Committee en Dust in Cardrooms.

Mr. RHYS DAVIES

When will the right hon. Gentleman be able to give us the names of the committee?

Sir J. SIMON

I am not in a position at the moment to make an announcement in regard to the constitution of the committee, but no time will be lost.
