HC Deb 11 November 1936 vol 317 c862
53. Mr. JOEL

asked the Minister of Transport the policy of his Department with regard to the supersession of tramcars by trolleybuses; and whether he can make a statement for the guidance of municipalities?

I have frequently expressed the opinion—and I am encouraged by results to believe that the municipalities share it—that the replacing of trains by vehicles not requiring rails in the road-bed makes for the greater convenience of traffic.
