HC Deb 10 November 1936 vol 317 c672
3. Mr. A. HENDERSON

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he has any information regarding the Commonwealth of Australia's refusal to admit Mrs. Freer, a British subject, into Australia?

Mr. M. MacDONALD

I have no information on the subject, but I am making inquiries.

Mr. HENDERSON

Will the right hon. Gentleman take into account the fact that a British subject travelling under a British passport has a prima facie legal right to enter any part of His Majesty's Dominions?

Mr. MacDONALD

This matter, of course, primarily concerns the Australian authorities. I am making inquiries from them, and perhaps I may suggest that I should get into touch with the hon. Gentleman as soon as I have received some reply to those inquiries.
