HC Deb 09 November 1936 vol 317 c480

The following question stood upon the Order Paper in the name of Mr. MORGAN JONES:

8. To ask the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he will indicate the grounds upon which Mr. Rassam, secretary of the Congress Socialist party of India, was forbidden to remain in the Punjab and deported from that area; and whether it is the policy of the Government of India to suppress all Socialist propaganda?

Mr. MORGAN JONES

May I point out that the name Mr. Rassam should he Mr. Masani?

Mr. BUTLER

I also had gone on the assumption that the name was Mr. Rassam, but I will make the correction. As regards Mr. Masani, I have further enquiries to make, and have not yet received an answer. The answer to the last part of the question is in the negative.
