6. Mr. JENKINSasked the Minister of Labour the total amount of the grants made to the most recent date by the Special Areas Commissioner to South Wales and Monmouthshire; and whether he can supply a statement giving particulars of each grant?
§ Mr. E. BROWNAs I indicated in the statement I supplied in answer to the question asked by the hon. Member on 9th July, 1936, the activities grant aided by the Commissioner cover in many cases all the Special Areas, and it is not possible therefore to state precisely what 215 grants made by the Commissioner relate specifically to the Special Areas of South Wales and Monmouth. Subject to this reservation, the matters on which the hon. Member desires information are dealt with in the Commissioner's third report which will be published very shortly. I would suggest that he awaits publication of that report.
