HC Deb 05 November 1936 vol 317 c250
78. Captain CAZALET

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can estimate the damage done to Governmental and private property in Palestine during the recent riots and strike?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the COLONIES (Mr. Ormsby-Gore)

I am not yet in a position to give any estimate.

Captain CAZALET

Is my right hon. Friend considering the question of compensation to these firms?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

It will be a very long time before it is possible to form an estimate. The staff in Palestine has had a very difficult time.
