asked the Minister of Labour the total number of insured persons under the Unemployment Insurance Acts for the years 1934 and 1935, inclusive, and the number of adult insured persons under the Unemployment Insurance Acts, giving males and females separately, for 1934 and 1935?

Following is the reply:

The estimated numbers of insured persons are ascertained once a year in July, on the basis of the number of unemployment books exchanged. The following table shows the estimated numbers of insured persons in Great Britain at July 1934, and July, 1935:
