HC Deb 27 May 1936 vol 312 cc2018-9
72. Mr. THORNE

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has received a report in connection with the collapse of scaffolding at the Clacton-on-Sea winter garden; and whether the collapse of the scaffolding was due to defective materials used or through a fault in erection?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd)

This accident, which occurred last Sunday, is under investigation, and I cannot at present make a statement as to the cause.
