HC Deb 27 May 1936 vol 312 c1986
1. Lieut.-Commander FLETCHER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether having regard to the increasing international tension in the Far East, occasioned by the augmentation of Japanese forces in North China, he will take an early opportunity to make a statement on British foreign policy in the Far East?

The SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Eden)

I have already given, and shall naturally continue to give, the House all the information at the disposal of His Majesty's Government regarding the various developments of the situation in the Far East. I do not consider that any more general statement is called for at present.
