asked the Home Secretary the names of former Commissioners of the Metropolitan police who have been granted retiring pensions or gratuities and the amounts since the resignation of Sir Edward Henry in 1918, showing the length of appointment in each case?

Of the Commissioners who have left the force since 1918, only Sir William Horwood retired with a pension or gratuity. He was granted a pension of £1,000 a year after 10 years' police service including eight and a half years as commissioner.
