asked the Minister of Labour whether he can give an assurance to the House that in no circumstances will action be taken for the purpose of making it a condition for the receipt of benefit that all persons who are eligible for enlistment for the Army or Navy shall be refused benefit unless they enlist?

Mr. E. BROWN

Yes, Sir, so far as the present Government are concerned.

Mr. BUCHANAN

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware of the current report that a committee has been set up in his Department to consult with the War Office in this matter, and is there any truth in that report?

Mr. BROWN

Not concerning this matter. I have already given an answer about the matter of posters, if that is the concern of the hon. Member.
