HC Deb 21 May 1936 vol 312 c1369
68. Mr. STOREY

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether, in view of the fact that the balance of population in Australia is only maintained because of the excess of Southern European immigrants over British emigrants, he proposes to take any steps in conjunction with the Government of Australia to encourage British immigiation?

The SECRETARY of STATE for DOMINION AFFAIRS (Mr. Malcolm MacDonald)

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply on this matter which I gave on 12th May to the hon. Member for Moss-side (Mr. Duckworth).
