§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAOwing to the death of the chief constable, the local authority has asked for the completion of the investigation to be deferred until his successor has been appointed.
§ 64. Mr. W. A. ROBINSONasked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been called to the fatal accident to Robert Percival Griffin, on 17th April last, as he was riding a motor cycle along the St. Helens Road, Eccleston Park, near Prescot; and is he prepared to make a statement why there were no red flags and no danger lights exhibited near the tar macadam heap, which unprotected heap was the cause of his death?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAI have read the Press report which the hon. Gentleman was good enough to send me. I understand that the coroner has not yet delivered his verdict.
§ Mr. ROBINSONWill the Minister promise that when the coroner has finished his investigations, he will discuss the matter with me, or send me further information?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAMost certainly I shall always be glad to discuss any question with the hon. Gentleman, and if the coroner makes any observation which it comes within my power to fulfil, I will naturally consult with the hon. Gentleman as to what is to be done.
