HC Deb 20 May 1936 vol 312 cc1181-2
31. Mr. PALING

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps have been taken to give effect to the report of the Grenada Commission of 1934 on children and young persons?

Mr. J. H. THOMAS

The commission made 29 recommendations, which have been under review locally. I am not in a position to state fully what action is being taken, or is contemplated on each of these; but as regards one of the most important, I can say that the Governor of the Windward Islands has reported that it is proposed to introduce in the Legislative Council of Grenada a measure on the lines of Part I of the Imperial Children and Young Persons Act, 1933.
