HC Deb 18 May 1936 vol 312 c835
63. Mr. THURTLE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will take steps to introduce legislation to make illegal any insurances against changes in taxation on the ground that such transactions are contrary to public policy?

Mr. W. S. MORRISON

My right hon. Friend is of opinion that it would be premature to consider any suggestion of this character while the Tribunal is conducting its present inquiry.

Mr. THURTLE

Will the hon. and learned Gentleman bear in mind when this matter is being considered, How oft the sight of means to do ill deeds, Makes ill deeds done!
