HC Deb 13 May 1936 vol 312 c380
53. Mr. CHORLTON

asked the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence what are the functions of the Supply Board; and what power it has in granting priority to supplies called for by the different Servces?

Sir T. INSKIP

The functions of the Supply Board are to advise as to the measures which can be taken to prepare in peace for the provision of Service requirements at the outset or in the initial stages of a war. The board has recently been given the additional function of determining priority between the Service Departments for the purposes of the deficiency programme.
