HC Deb 13 May 1936 vol 312 c368
26. Mr. PALING

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the position as regards the introduction of workmen's compensation legislation in East Africa on the lines of the model Ordinances?

Mr. J. H. THOMAS

The model Ordinance referred to in the reply made by my predecessor, the present Secretary of State for Air, on 14th February, 1935, to a question on the same subject by the hon. Member was duly communicated to the Governments of the East African Dependencies and to various bodies in this country which are closely acquainted with African conditions. I have not yet received replies from all these bodies. As soon as they have been considered, I propose to communicate further with the Colonial Governments in the matter.
