HC Deb 13 May 1936 vol 312 c375
34. Mr. DREWE

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what sums have been made available in recent years from the development fund for afforestation in the Colonies?

Mr. J. H. THOMAS

The Colonial Development Fund made a free grant of £1,740 for reafforestation in the Seychelles. Many other grants have been made from the fund for general forestry work, especially the training of personnel.

Mr. THURTLE

Will the right hon. Gentleman say what the amount of this Development Fund is, or is that matter a Cabinet secret?

Mr. THOMAS

I do not know. If my hon. Friend will put down a question I will certainly supply him with the information.
