HC Deb 12 May 1936 vol 312 cc196-7
38. Sir CHARLES EDWARDS (for Mr. G. HALL)

asked the hon. and gallant Member for Rye, as representing the Forestry Commissioners, what progress, if any, has been made in acquiring land under the scheme to assist the Special Areas by planting 200,000 acres in and near these areas; and will he give the area of land acquired, its cost per acre, and its location, for South Wales separately?

Sir G. COURTHOPE

Investigations of plantable land and negotiations for acquisition are proceeding, but no contract has yet been completed.
