§ Mr. E. BROWNInformation is not available as to the average wages paid in the principal industries, either in July, 1914, or in February, 1936. An inquiry is now being made by my Department, however, into average earnings in manufacturing industries generally, and in some of the principal non-manufacturing industries, in October, 1935, and the results of this inquiry, when completed, will be published in the Ministry of Labour Gazette. Some comparative figures of rates of wages at August, 1914, and December, 1934, were published in the Ministry of Labour Gazette for March, 1935.
