HC Deb 25 March 1936 vol 310 cc1217-8
38. Sir REGINALD CLARRY

asked the Minister of Transport the estimated expenditure out of the Road Fund during the current financial year on the works which are expected to cost £22,500,000 and have been approved for commencement during that period as the first instalment of the five-year road plan and the estimated expenditure in each succeeding financial year on this first instalment?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

The Road Fund's proportion of the total expenditure may be taken roughly at 70 per cent. The rate of expenditure of course depends on the progress made by highway authorities.
