In February, 1935, the approximate proportions were 49 per cent of payments according to Unemployment Assistance regulations and 51 per cent. according to the transitional payments practice. In December, 1935, when the position had been affected by the increase of 1s. in the rate of unemployment benefit for dependent children, the corresponding proportions were 44 per cent. and 56 per cent.
