HC Deb 24 March 1936 vol 310 c1032
15. Mr. THORNE

asked the Secretary of State for War why the lance-bombardier of a physical-training squad at Woolwich was not court-martialled for striking Lance-Bombardier James Hastie, of the Second Training Battery Depot, Royal Artillery; and what was the offence for which Lance-Bombardier James Hastie was court-martialled?

Mr. COOPER

Tie hon. Member appears to have been misinformed in regard to this case. Lance-Bombardier Hastie was not struck by anyone, but was himself arraigned before a district court-martial for the offence of striking a soldier.

Mr. THORNE

I must apologise for making a mistake in putting down the matter in the wrong way.
