HC Deb 24 March 1936 vol 310 c1033
19. Mr. PORRITT

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, when allotting contracts for the War Office, he will make it a condition that the firms successfully tendering for such contracts shall give facilities for members of any of the auxiliary forces in their employ to be allowed to attend annual training without loss of wages and without loss of ordinary holidays?

Mr. COOPER

I fear that this suggestion is open to many objections, not the least important of which is the danger of deterring firms from employing members of the auxiliary forces.
