HC Deb 23 March 1936 vol 310 cc879-80
55. Mr. T. WILLIAMS

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware of the dilapidated condition of the temporary school at Warmsworth, near Doncaster; and, if so, can he state whether plans for a new school have been submitted by the West Riding, Yorkshire, education committee?

Mr. STANLEY

I understand that the local education authority for the West Riding have included the proposal for a new school at Warmsworth in the programme of work to be initiated during the year 1936–37. The plans have not yet been submitted to the board.

Mr. WILLIAMS

As this school has been a temporary school for the past 16 or 17 years, will the right hon. Gentleman use his influence with the West Riding Education Committee to expedite its rebuilding?

Mr. STANLEY

The fact that it is included in their programme this year shows that they realise the urgency.
