HC Deb 18 March 1936 vol 310 c441
19. Mr. DAVIDSON

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether any opportunity will be given to the House to discuss the projected legislative council in Palestine?

Mr. J. H. THOMAS

I would invite the hon. Member's attention to the reply which I gave on 11th March to a question by my hon. Friend, the Member for East Dorset (Mr. Hall-Caine).

Mr. DAVIDSON

In view of the fact that a great movement has been going on throughout the country against this projected legislative council, will the right hon. Gentleman reconsider his reply and give the House an opportunity of discussing this very important question?

Mr. THOMAS

It is obvious that the hon. Gentleman has not even read the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for East Dorset (Mr. Hall-Caine). If he reads that reply he will see that I promised such an opportunity. I said that this matter was one that could be discussed. If he reads the reply he will see the promise which I made.
