HC Deb 17 March 1936 vol 310 cc237-8
76. Major MILNER

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many white settlers have refused to accept conscript military service since its enactment in Kenya, and how many have accepted?

Mr. J. H. THOMAS

I am not in possession of the information, but I have already asked the Governor to furnish it.

Major MILNER

Will the right hon. Gentleman be good enough to let me have it?

Mr. THOMAS

Certainly.

77. Major MILNER

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can give any particulars with regard to the alteration which has been made in the military organisation of Kenya; of what does it consist; and from what sources will the man-power be drawn?

Mr. THOMAS

I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the answer which I gave yesterday to the question by the hon. and gallant Member for Drake Division of Plymouth (Captain Guest).
