asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the amount spent each year in the last 10 years on the secret service; whether this amount is distributed among different Departments; and, if so, how it is distributed and who is responsible for its allocation?

Mr. W. S. MORRISON

I will circulate the figures asked for in the OFFICIAL REPORT. The answer to the second part of the question is in the affirmative. The allocation is made by the Treasury, as the Department which accounts for the Vote; but from the nature of the service it would not be in the public interest to disclose further particulars.
