HC Deb 16 March 1936 vol 310 cc27-8
54. Mr. McGOVERN (for Mr. STEPHEN)

asked the Minister of Labour how many reports have been received by him from the Unemployment Assistance Board regarding the modification of the means test; and whether he proposes to submit such reports to this House for the information of Members and, if so, when he will be in a position to do so?

Lieut.-Colonel MUIRHEAD

As regards the first part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to a similar question put by the hon. Member for Wolverhampton, East (Mr. Mander) on 12th March. 1936, and as regards the second part to the reply to the question put by the hon. Member for Birkenhead, East (Mr. White) on 5th December, 1935.

Mr. McGOVERN

Can we have a reply which does not refer to previous answers?

Lieut.-Colonel MUIRHEAD

It is the normal procedure to refer an hon. Member to answers which have been given to previous questions, and to furnish copies of those replies.
