HC Deb 16 March 1936 vol 310 c11
15. Lieut. - Commander FLETCHER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he proposes to make a general statement, such as was made by his predecessor, on British foreign policy; and, if so, will he devote special attention in it to the Far East, and the effect of Japanese foreign policy upon our interests in China and elsewhere, in view of the public anxiety felt on that score?

Viscount CRANBORNE

The hon. and gallant Member's suggestion will certainly be borne in mind, but I am not in a position at present to say when an opportune moment will occur for a discussion of Far Eastern affairs.

Mr. DAY

Will the Noble Lord, in making the statement, deal with the question of extra-territoriality?

Viscount CRANBORNE

I think that is covered by my answer.
