HC Deb 05 March 1936 vol 309 cc1551-2
44. Mr. EDE

asked the President of the Board of Education the number of local education authorities to whom he pays grant on their expenditure in paying the local authority's share of the contributions under the Local Government Officers' Superannuation Acts; whether he pays grant on all classes of officers brought under the Act; and, if not, what classes of officers are excluded?

Mr. STANLEY

No expenditure by local education authorities under the Local Government Officers' Superannuation Acts ranks for grant from the Board of Education.

57. Mr. EDE

asked the Minister of Health the number of local authorities who have submitted to him schemes for including supplementary teachers for benefit under the Local Government Officers' Superannuation Acts; how many such schemes he has approved; and the total number of designated posts so created?

The MINISTER of HEALTH (Sir Kingsley Wood)

Twenty-four authorities have, with my approval, made agreements with the managers of non-provided schools for the admission to the benefits of the Act of 1922 of 225 supplementary teachers. I regret that figures relating to supplementary teachers in provided schools are not readily available.

Mr. EDE

Are there any authorities who do it with provided schools and not with non-provided schools?

Sir K. WOOD

I will inquire and let the hon. Gentleman know.
