§ 32. Mr. MANDERasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the present position with regard to the purchase of land by Jews in Transjordania; and the reasons why permission has not so far been granted?
Mr. J. H. THOMASI am unable to add anything to the reply given to the House on 26th March, 1935. The possibility of the settlement of Jews in Trans-Jordan must depend upon local conditions, as to which I must be guided by the advice of the High Commissioner, who is naturally qualified to give advice.
