HC Deb 03 March 1936 vol 309 cc1183-4
62. Sir MURDOCH MACDONALD

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what stage has now been reached in the negotiations for the reconstruction of the Broadford pier; and whether, in view of the long delay and loss of facilities suffered by the public, he can at an early date bring these negotiations to a satisfactory conclusion?

Sir G. COLLINS

I understand that a substantial offer for the pier has been made by Messrs. Macbrayne, and is at present before the trustees of the pier and the bond-holder. As the parties are now in negotiation, an early settlement is to be anticipated.
