HC Deb 02 March 1936 vol 309 cc987-8
27. Mr. GUY

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether he has made any decision as to the restoration of lighting in Holyrood Park?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

Yes, Sir. I am making arrangements for the restoration of lighting as soon as possible.

Mr. GUY

Does the right hon. Gentleman intend to reintroduce the pre-war system of lighting, or is he considering some more modern system?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

I gather that the most speedy and most satisfactory thing to do is to use the existing mains, which we have tested, and certainly at present that is what I propose to do.

Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

Can the right hon. Gentleman say approximately when he expects the lighting to be restored?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

I cannot say yet.
