HC Deb 25 June 1936 vol 313 cc1934-5
23. Mr. RANKIN

asked the Minister of Labour whether any action has been taken during the past eight years to limit the freedom of managers of Employment Exchanges in encouraging unemployed persona to join the fighting Services; and whether he will now consider amending the instructions given to managers enabling them to give information to unemployed persons with regard to the fighting Services in suitable cases whether or not they request such information?

Lieut.-Colonel MUIRHEAD

There has been no change in practice since 1919. With regard to the second part of the question, I would refer to the reply given by my right hon. Friend on 18th June, of which I am sending my hon. Friend a copy.
