HC Deb 30 July 1936 vol 315 c1701
18. Mr. BOULTON

asked the Minister of Labour whether his attention has been drawn to the want of conveniences and shelter for the unemployed when having to wait outside before entering the Employment Exchange in Sheffield; and will he take steps to see if something can be done to remedy this defect?

Mr. E. BROWN

I have received representations on these points. Ordinarily, if applicants appear at the time indicated to them, there is no need for them to wait. There is a public lavatory within a short distance of this exchange. The provision of shelters at the Employment Exchanges is under consideration, but it is a matter which is by no means free from difficulty.
