HC Deb 30 July 1936 vol 315 c1718
61. Mr. ADAMSON

asked the Minister of Health whether he has considered the representations of the National Federation of Cold Storage and Ice Trades and of municipal authorities with reference to amending the Rating and Valuation (Apportionment) Act of 1928 so as to bring cold storage within the Act for relief of rating; and whether he will consider such an amendment in the interests of national requirements for the development of refrigeration?

Sir K. WOOD

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given on 21st July to my hon. Friend the Member for Bilston (Mr. Hannah).

Mr. MANDER

Has the right hon. Gentleman considered this matter from the point of view of national defence; and will he consult the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence in regard to it?

Sir K. WOOD

I think the hon. Gentleman must confer with me about that. It is not a matter that has been brought directly to my notice in that connection.
