HC Deb 29 July 1936 vol 315 c1509
Lieut.-Commander FLETCHER

May I ask why a question addressed by me to the Secretary of State for the Colonies has been removed from the Order Paper? It has been on the Order Paper for a week.

Mr. SPEAKER

I understand that on the particular occasion to which the hon. and gallant Member refers he had four questions on the Order Paper. The fourth question should have been unstarred.

Lieut.-Commander FLETCHER

The fourth question was removed from the Paper by me yesterday. If a question has to be removed, is it not customary to consult the Member as to which of the questions he wishes to be removed?

Mr. SPEAKER

Usually it is the fourth question which is removed.
