HC Deb 29 July 1936 vol 315 cc1518-9
38. Miss WILKINSON

asked the Minister of Transport whether he has yet made any communication to the Durham and Northumberland authorities regarding the freeing of the ferry at Jarrow; and whether he has yet taken any steps towards the lifting of this heavy rate burden for the ferry on the Jarrow rate?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

After I have had an opportunity of giving full consideration to the report of my divisional road engineer upon the general question of cross-river facilities of the Tyne, I propose to communicate with the local authorities concerned.
